ELECTRICITY-FREE LIGHTING! No batteries, bulbs, or wiring required. 100% solar powered. Guaranteed to glow for 20 years or more.
Our glow-in-the-dark pavers incorporate a specialized aggregate that absorbs light quickly during the day and emits it slowly during the night, glowing for 8-10 hours and gradually fading as the night goes on. The light emitted is low-level light, suitable for Dark Sky applications or situations where you want to see where you are going without interfering with your enjoyment of the night sky. To be effective, the pavers must be laid where there is no (or minimal) competing electric light, as the electric light will drown out the glow effect. If you can’t see the pavers glowing, you’ve got light pollution!
Glow pavers are excellent for delineating or marking pathways, walkways, driveways, patios, pool decks, backyard firepits, outdoor steps, walking trails, bike paths, building entrances, campground amenities, etc.—wherever there is a desire to minimize light pollution or electricity consumption.
Glow pavers are available in two sizes, with additional formats under development:
12” x 12” x 2 3/8”
4” x 8” x 2 2 3/8” (brick size)
Our standard glow pavers are made using randomly distributed, multi-coloured glow-in-the-dark aggregate (blue, green, and aqua). Single colour glow pavers are available upon request by custom order.
Glow pavers can be used as individual stepping stones or interspersed with regular pavers to create patterns or borders in larger installations. Glow pavers should be installed in accordance with best practices for standard paver installation.
Working on a larger project? We can also supply the glow-in-the-dark aggregate in bulk for use in pour-in-place concrete and asphalt projects, such as sidewalks, entry ways or bicycle paths. Please contact us for pricing or further information.
Do you have other ideas for glow-in-the-dark concrete? Please reach out to discuss your custom project. Possibilities include indoor/outdoor countertops, vanity tops, bedside tables, outdoor shower walls, stair treads, and more!
